Hey everyone and welcome back to kickstart conversation. I'm your host, Catharine O'Leary and I am truly honored today to have Deb Drummond here with me. Deb is somebody that I met back in Orlando, actually at a media master camp boot camp. And she is just a powerhouse. She's got a media company, she's doing these eight marathons back to back walking across Ireland. It's not she's, you know, very heavily involved in the music industry. But she is also heavily involved in, in network marketing and direct sales and is a rock star and all that. So if anyone knows, you know, the the ins and outs of lead generation and really attracting your ideal client, it is Deb. So Deb, welcome to kickstart the conversation.
Deb Drummond:Oh, my gosh, I'm so excited to be here. And I'm so excited that you are that you have this platform because while like you said we met in the in the media camp, and you've got going on you, you you got it going on. Like the whole quiz. I just call you the you know, I think we all call you the quiz queen, but you know about lead gen. You know what it's like when you don't have it? And you know how to create it. So happy? Yeah. Yeah.
Catharine O'Leary:And so there is some there's a project that we are involved in right now that you and I are, are going through and and can you tell us a little bit to tell people out there a little bit more about, you know, the show up, stand up and speak up series?
Deb Drummond:Yeah, absolutely. It was just this little thing we're doing this little thing pie, that's all dead does little things, they're gonna have to like throw us out. So well, it is what I believe. And what we can find it is the largest, we're calling it the boldest authorship and speakership for International Women's Day that we can find on Google. So I don't know if that's, you know, the biggest in the world, you know, but it definitely is, you can't find anything like it. And what it is, it's from March 7 2023. So we've been doing a couple of months already. And it is going to complete on May 11 2024. So in total with the back end work and the extension work, we're looking at about two years, but on stage almost a year and a half of Summit every single month, from the seventh of March, all the way to February, eighth. Always happening on the eighth day of the month represent International Women's Day, large event and International Women's Day, there's a book release massive summits, celebrity panel, and then we go weekly, eight women, eight weeks, eight women, eight weeks, eight women, eight weeks, and then the finale, the grand finale is on May 11, the day before Mother's Day, and is all about celebrating women. And it's all about gumption.
Catharine O'Leary:And it is, I mean, it is a way that you are bringing women together to celebrate each other to support each other to celebrate International Women's Day. And to you know, like this is, this is pretty monumental folks like I mean, think about it. And we've talked about summits before, and you know, putting a summit on that's like maybe maybe a one day Summit, maybe a three day Summit, it's not two years worth of summit that go because Deb can't do anything, just like you know, once, you know, you might as well do it like, you know, 1214 16 times. So, in summits, or we know, we talked about this, you know, we've talked about this before, we're summits are a really great place to, you know, generate leads for your business and so on. The thing was someone's right now, I think, is that people are a little tired of the talking heads. People are a little tired of just being talked at and they can't interact. And you know, there's there's a, there's a shift coming to what summits are looking like so I love the way that you've kind of, like come up with like a two year strategy, all around building, you know, business connections and networking and so on for women, but all around summits, because it is very different. Like, I mean, maybe you can tell me that like a few of the differences.
Deb Drummond:Yeah, absolutely. So I mean, we really went to task on creating the platform that we felt was the best like everything that we did, we really analyzed it, which is why when this project came up, that when we got into it, it was like this was going to be you know, there was gonna be some considerable back end work because when we do it, we want to do it right. When we do we want to do it in service. When we do it. We want people to have benefit not only the people speaking but the people receiving and what does that look like and what does this mean and what's what's the message and can you can you be congruent in that message for 15 months. It's one thing to have a topic for a weekend. Right? But when you know you've seen it, this is really important. I just came up with this this morning as well, as we do each summit we're adding, we're adapting. But you've been on summits, I've been on summits, where you go, and there's a topic for that summit. And then you get there, and there's someone speaking and you're like, it's a disconnect. Someone's pitching their business, or someone's off, or they're trying to adapt the topic to something, and it's not congruent, like, you know, go on, go on the summits where you feel like there's incongruency. So we so here's the different, I vet, I mean, genomic speakers that we have, between authors and speakers, it's 375 375 women that I am betting, conversing with talking to, you know, wow. Like, you know, it's, it's, uh, you know, my day start early, as you know. And so there's that part of it. And then the other part of it is like, what, what do we ask them to say, like, Yes, this is what you do. So you know, you're coming on, we know that you're coming on. But there's certain things there's a conversation I'm having with every speaker before we go live. And we're coming up with their title. We're coming up with their topic, we know what their topic is. But is it applicable? Does it make people lean in? Is it media sexy? Does it make people kind of get out of their seats? You know, asking questions from our speakers, like, what's your favorite album, because you know what, I talk a lot about music, I talk about it being a healing. It's an aspect to this, right, what happens when you walk on stage, there's music, what happens when you so there's like, you know, even to all the entry and the exit, like when you see the media piece that goes across and the music that's played and stand up, speak up and show up and quotes from, you know, people from our quote planter, quote, authors, and just all of those little pieces makes such a difference. And then what is the question that we ask? What is it that we're leaning into? What is it that we're so having that question, having those conversations beforehand, so that there is a congruence? I'll tell you, I've been on a lot of summits. And, you know, it's like, you know, that some are great in summer, this and some are that and some are not, and all that kind of stuff. But the feedback that I've had from people that have just come on, and said, I've never like I didn't want to leave, like I didn't like I just didn't want to leave, I didn't leave my seat. I did not do my dishes. I didn't end up doing my this, I canceled my meeting, I stayed listening. You know, I was listening to you guys. I was grocery shopping, because I didn't want to take it off. Like, there's that kind of thing. And then, uh, you know, when you nail it, is when the feedback from speakers were like, that was That was smooth. That was easy. That was the best that I had been on. So we tried it and look at no one's perfect. But we try to make it different that way. Also, it's free. Like this is meant to be accessible globally. And so what's better? What's best for the speakers? I mean, sometimes it's kind of like there's that pay to play part. But there's free speakers there's there's free speaking summits, there's not there's, you know, we've made it as reasonable to be as accessible. So when you're speaking, do you want to be in a room where there's 20 people? Because they could afford to be there? Yes. Sometimes you do, because you're reading and you might be selling a $20,000? Or do you want to have more people follow you? Do you want to have more people hear you? And can you adapt what you're doing to that level of accessibility. Because when you make when you're having a summit, that's 56789 10 hours in a day, the challenge of having someone pay for that summit, per se, and I'm not against paid summits, I speak on them all the time, and people sell this stuff, the content, I have no issue with it. But for this project, based on the mission of the mandate of getting globally as much attention as possible, is you won't be able to be with you want people to be able to feel like I didn't spend money and not get there. So one of the things is Oh, it's on that, you know, like I just told you, we had record numbers on Easter weekend. Now, if people had to pay for that, they're not going to because they wanted to be able to pop on and off. You know that a lot of people, you know, celebrate Easter and they're cooking, and they're this and that and they came on in the morning before they did their Easter baskets in the afternoon. So that was just a decision that we made, which honestly, you know, what it takes to run these things. We took the head a little bit on that so that it was more accessible. Who's that great for that script for the speaker? The speaker The speaker, right? So things like that.
Catharine O'Leary:Yeah, and I think I think this is a really good point, because there are lots of different types of summits. And some summits are gonna have, like, you know, a bigger audience that is really more about engagement and getting your brand out there and getting you known versus some summers that are maybe a little closer to home, they're really focused on your ideal client. And they are, you know, far more targeted because you're actually pitching and you're actually offering something. So you want like so, you know, it's not one size fits all. It's making sure that you are aligning your marketing strategies with where you are speaking. So you know, like, you know, getting your brand out there getting it out globally. and so on, you know, doing something like this, where, you know, there's a ton of media behind it, there's a ton of like, there's, it's being handled by, like, it's being run in the back end by professionals. And, and so on being part of that is an awareness strategy, you know, it's a, it's a, get your name out there, it's get associated with his building your, your authority and your respect and trust with, you know, the fact that you're surrounding yourself with these amazing people and, and getting seen on this platform. You know, that's not necessarily an end, you even said, This is not to speak, to sell, you know, opportunity this is, you're building your awareness, you're not gonna go off and say and hear for 997 You're gonna, you know, you can get like, that's not, that's not where this plays. So you have opportunities to build your, your, your client list and build your, you know, I like to attract your ideal clients. And, you know, even you know, before you try to sell to get that awareness up, right, yeah.
Deb Drummond:So I mean, having, you know, having women having a strong 20 minutes doesn't sound like a lot of time, but at the crux of what people do, 20 minutes is strong. So we do a professional intro and outro. So, you know, there's, No, there's nothing like, hey, introduce yourself. And you've got eight minutes to speak, I don't want to take three minutes to introduce myself, I want someone to introduce for me, because first of all, it gives me way more cre gives me way more credentials, right, so that professional introduction, like you did with me today, you know, that professional intro and outro, it's talking to the heart of the matter. So they are buying unnecessarily like you are, we'll be talking about the heart of your work. So I'll introduce you, as someone who does what you do, you'll talk with the heart of what you do, and how it benefits others in relationship to right. So you can lean in, it's just not a stand up pitch. And then we incorporated the prizes. So in the prizes is what's your gift to everybody, you get to say what your gift everybody chances are, it's got to do with your project, your philanthropy, you know what you got going on, and then that one big gift. And so we described as one big gift and allow you to describe this one big gift, which is the pinnacle of what you do. Or it's you know, it's your, you know, signed copy of your book series or, and it has a lot of value. So everyone's listening. So they understand what you do. They're attracted to you to do what they do, people that are wanting to win your prize there, they're putting their answer in the chat, you know, as a speaker to go into the chat, and have those private offside conversations with them, right. That's the coaching that we do for speakers so that you are now talking to the people, you got to be seen by everybody. And then you take that content, you know, things like we give you your speaking content with a nice little pretty Canva this is this was your speaking piece, go and use it for your media. So yes, this is a lot about being well, it's a lot about standing up speaking up in, you know, showing up, but it's also about being seen, right? So it's about being seen. So you get to weave your to weave what you do in there. But you're not standing up going. I'm here to teach you in 20 minutes, you know, this actual business skill, because it's a event to celebrate being a woman in business or a woman in project or a woman in, you know, a woman a woman of gumption? Right. Great.
Catharine O'Leary:Well, okay, so let's unpack some of those, because that was a ton of golden nuggets. Right there. Yeah. So that was, you know, when you're on a summit like this, although there isn't one like this, but you know, you know, I'm sure there will be more as, as this one goes on any site, really, you can leave it? Yeah, yeah, any summit, but it's that it's making sure you get the chat so that you can follow up with people that are, you know, making sure that you drop something in, in your speaking in your talk to say, Hey, if you want to connect, you know, drop my name in the chat, so that I can, you know, connect with you. And we can do that offline or something along those lines, if it's allowed, you know, like, like, check with the summit host. But so using utilizing, like, even when you you're not allowed to speak to sell, like you're like you're not like quote unquote, allowed. It's not like, you know, looked upon doesn't mean that you can't connect with people. So I think that that's what what Deb was just saying is like there's there's opportunities to connect, you know, through the chat, there's opportunities to connect, you know, after the fact and there's usually like a Facebook group or something that you can go in and you know, not only in the speaker Facebook group, which there often is for bigger summits, but also in the participant, Facebook group, you can be in there and you know, drumming up, you know, conversations and getting to know people. It's a different way to network and I get that. But it's very effective. It can be very effective. It is very effective because they've seen you so it really is betting like that's the one thing I like about it.
Deb Drummond:You may not be you know, I mean? I don't find too many summits anymore or You can stand their pitch from beginning to end. And I've popped onto someone's even someone said, I've been on, and I've come on, and I've seen someone taking their, you know, eight minutes of fame and it's all pitch and it's like, okay, it's not that memorable unless they are really talking about something that I really need at that time. So they don't probably catch my attention. I don't know if it's successful, I don't tend to I don't tend to present that way. But we do. Do you do make sure that you weave it in? Like you said, drop it, weave it in? I think if you you know, it again, it depends on kind of some of that you're on. But being in that chat, you know, having people see you your 90% through the sale. So, you know, they, I mean, I, you know, teach that. And a lot of times people will be like, Oh, how did you get so like, you know, how did you hit those numbers? How did you? You know, I've been fairly successful in acquisition, I'll say, and, you know, I was number one in a company in 10 countries that have 200,000 people, I've only done four Facebook posts. Why was that? Because I chose to go do the trade show route. And when I'm going to do a trade show route, and you came to my trade show, I bypassed I bypassed you know, eight points of interest. You saw me, you heard me, you met me It is you that may not have bought the chances were way super high. And it's the same thing with a summit. So I was able to close sometimes within an hour, a very considerable deal. You know, why? Because we bypass all that stuff. When you're on a summit, they get to see you, they hear you, they watch your gestures, right? They see what you're wearing, you know, they size you up, okay, that's this part of the deal. They size you up, they hear how you talk, and they're attracted to you. It's kind of like the book that goes with the summit. Why do we have one full page just about you, nothing to do with your business. Because we know that if people gig you, if they relate to the fact that they also like vanilla milkshakes, if they, you know, came from the same town, whatever they gave you, your services become way more valuable. It's the same thing when you're speaking, when they see you. If they're like, Wow, she's a cool chick. And then all of a sudden, they're like, Oh, you sell lead generation, you sell this, you sell that? The value of that just went up. Right? Right, you know it, you know, it, we've all walked into a store to get something and the sales clerk that came up to us wasn't necessarily our fancy, but we needed that. So we were like, Okay, we'll get it or we didn't. But so that's, that's your opportunity and being a speaker? And yes, it is your job, as well as a speaker to be able to take that opportunity. And how do you lead gen from that, while you tell everybody you know that you're going to be on that summit, particularly people you've been prospecting, or like, I'd like to invite you as my guests, even if I had to pay for a prospect to come, right? Even if I just say like, Hey to the summit speaker, like, Hey, I'd like to invite someone like, they want you to invite people, but usually, it's a pay to play. And so you'd be inviting them. Like if I had someone that I was going to be talking about something, and I thought it was going to close a major deal. I'd pay for them to go into the summit. I'd be like, Hey, come on, as my guests come on, as my guests and I have as many people there as possible. Because most people think, well, I want to be on other people's audiences. Yeah, you do that you want to solidify, and build your credentials with people that are in the are in the process of possibly one day, all it takes is one media badge, one time on stage people to see someone that thinks oh, my gosh, look at her to close the deal.
Catharine O'Leary:Yeah, that is that is so true. So again, really taking, and I'm a big proponent of doing the things that weave into your strategy and not like just a one off, like, Oh, I'm gonna do this somewhere over here, but I'm not actually going to connect it to my, you know, my email campaign or whatever, it's just going to be like, there's one off thing that like, kind of, you know, lives in the ether, and you have no idea actually how it connects, like, just kind of, you know, kind of sprang like that, like, where you're just like, Oh, I'm on this summit, and then this summit, and then this podcast, and you're not actually kind of weaving it in and saying, and having that communication strategy. And I don't mean to scare people, I don't mean that you have to have a great big, huge, you know, like, you know, the calendar or anything like that. I'm just saying that if you if you attend these summits with purpose, if you attend your podcast with purpose and, and with intention to not only help the yourself and your business, but also to help the person that's, you know, that's on the podcasts, like, that's having you on the podcast, that's, you know, you know, hosting the summit. You'll like it'll, it'll go so much further and be so much more aligned with
Deb Drummond:Yeah, it's collaborative. I wouldn't say the same thing because we're so used to like, okay, so this is part of my marketing, and you don't mean to be self concerning, right? You don't mean to be so concerning. Like, oh, I'm going on and I'm, you know, and and it's not ego either, right. It's just like, Oh, I gotta fit this in and I gotta do this. And then we really forget that Howard marketing, and most of us, 99.9% of us think we're doing the marketing for the summit. Well, they have a son. So I'm going to do this for Katherine, I'm going to do this for Deb, I'm going to do this for Angel, I'm going to do this for you know, for us, I'm going to do, I'm going to do it for them, but you're not doing it for them, you're doing it for you. You're doing it for you, you're doing it for the collaboration, you know what it may be that you're on a summit with someone else, and your prospect goes, Wow, that person is super cool, I can't believe they're on the same Summit, right? You've upped your credentials, you don't ever have to worry about losing your people. That's it, you don't have to worry, like invite your people, you don't have to worry about them going with someone else, you know, like, just get that out of your head. Because it actually more than anything gives you more credentials, they have the relationship with you, they're following you. And so the more that you expose your people, to your platforms, and even it's like, it's like a, you know, that's their stages, like, these are things that we would normally be getting together. And people would be buying tickets, and they'd be getting babysitters, and they'd be doing all that kind of stuff. And they'd be driving and they'd be coming to the auditorium, they'd be coming to the stage and they come into the theater, to see you to hear you to do that. Right. And so they're there for you. Right, they're there for you. And so the more you let your audience know, I mean, that's part of being a speaker, whether you're paying or not, it is your opportunity. And if you think it's good enough for you to go and speak on there, then you obviously think it's good enough for your credentials and your marketing or managing or you wouldn't go right. And so if you don't you it's a missed opportunity, if no one in your circle knows that you went there. I mean, it's just a missed opportunity. And it breaks the collaborative cycle, it breaks the collaborative cycle. And as I look at, I was just on a three day you were just on the same summit, I believe that I was on, I didn't sit at my desk for three days, you know, I was doing stuff on and off, I was listening, but I did as much as I could even if I had 15 minutes to pop on, listen to somebody and put some comments in the chat, you kick the chat going, right? Because it is collaborative and supportive. So it doesn't mean you have to commit to three days, I know people that go I don't have time. And I'm like, I wouldn't, I wouldn't be able to sit there for three days, either unless it was my Summit, or unless it was, you know, something that I paid a lot to be there and I'd be participating. But you know, sometimes I might have my earbuds in while I'm putting my dishes away. I mean, this is this is okay. Right. But the to fully engage and take, I mean, I would rather be in two summits and fully engaged and meet the other speakers, right. Like my, my meeting after this today is getting on to a an event where all the speakers have a past summit that I was on, right, I'm really grateful that they're doing it, they did it not after the summit, and they kind of gave it a couple of weeks to breathe. So but um, to get back on and meet the other speakers, because there's a lot of business that happens with with your fellow colleagues, right, a lot of relationships that happen there, too. So there's so many opportunities in a summit to actually benefit long term and short term, they're really a great place to be.
Catharine O'Leary:Yeah, so it goes so much further. And so like, it's beyond that 20 minutes, that you're talking Oh, can it can if you want, like if you treat it that way. Yeah, and and, you know, engaging with the other speakers, that's a great tip as well, you know, the other thing is, you know, like anytime that you are in a live situation, and you are on stage, and if you've ever been up, you know, up on stage, and everyone's sitting in the back, or whatever, one of the things that you start learning really quick is that you want to be the audience or like to behave as if you're the person in the audience that you want to have, if you're on stage. Right. So be the person in the audience that you want to be speaking to, if you are on stage. So in live format, it means like moving up to the front, so that they have somebody to look at, and it changes the energy in the room and so on, that it totally changes the energy on the chat. And with the other participants. If you can just go in there and say, Oh, my God, Deb rocks that I love working with her, check out her pocket, like whatever she's doing, check it out. It's awesome. And really supporting each other again, be the be the audience you want to have. Whether it's live or virtual.
Deb Drummond:Yeah, absolutely. There's always something that you can pull from someone's presentation that you align with. Right. And it is really about participation. But then there's the afterpiece and it's like so what does being summit do now if I was on a summit, and the summit speaker didn't necessarily have your individual you know, speaking, you can tend to get the whole summit, but I would even pay for that. I would say to the summit person can I can I spend you know, 50 bucks, 100 bucks, 200 bucks, whatever it is, because that is that is such incredible content, like taking that content. Put it on your media page. If you have on your website, put it on your YouTube, put it on your Facebook, put on your Instagram or LinkedIn and Just once, like, oh, I posted up on my Facebook, how many times you know, it's like you posted up your lunch to Did someone call you for your business like, so you have to be really active or like I was thinking today I had someone on my podcast, and they're they have a thing about weight loss, right. And I had, you know, a girl from last night was talking about it on this morning. I'm like, oh, man, I gotta put those together, I gotta send her that show. I gotta send her the show that we did. And let her take a you know, let her see what David had to say and see if it's applicable to her. So taking that content, it's live content, I mean, that content is good for two years, for the most part. And people are so used to just tossing content away. Oh, my You get that content that you have, will get you leads in the future, take that content, send it to your friends that couldn't make it to the summit. Say, Hey, instead of listening to Oprah tomorrow morning, or Tony Robbins tomorrow morning, or your favorite music, but you know, for me, that would be like asking a lot. Listen to my listen to my podcast, you know, it's 10 minutes is 15 minutes, 20 minutes, it's whatever. I'd love your opinion on it. I'd love to hear what you think about it. Right? So you've got it. So send it to two or three people a day, someone that you just finished talking to you just had a prospect call, you just, you know, talk to lead, you're just like, hey, you know what, there's something about I was talking about that in this podcast, have your podcasts handled or your summits your summit speaks handily, or if you're on someone's podcast, but just kind of like it and just hit send it to them and just say, Hey, I talked about that here. Instead of like, oh, just go to go to my YouTube, it's there, take it and send it and go, Hey, it's 10 minutes, it's 20 minutes, it's half an hour, watch it tomorrow morning, or listen to it in the car. And I think you'll get some more information here. It could help you close the deal.
Catharine O'Leary:Yeah, I love I love all that. All of it, all of it. Because that was there is so much content that you are doing when he like, if you're sitting there and thinking, Oh, I don't have the content, you likely do. And you just haven't realized that you haven't labeled it content, per se. Yeah. You know, like, you can, you can be taken screenshots as you're on networking, you know, networking calls, and so on, say, Hey, I'm just hanging out with, you know, the JV IC or the, you know, the JV directory, or you know, whatever it is, or, you know, what, and this is actually something that a lot of the speakers do for, for show up, stand up and speak up is, hey, I'm just, you know, like, this is me hanging out with all my friends at the, you know, date of the month on show up, stand up and speak up. You know, come join us, like, come come to hang out, come pop in. You can like that's you could be doing that all the time. We're all on Zoom almost every day. So you can you know, you can absolutely do that. So you can be Yeah, people that way.
Deb Drummond:And if you have a virtual assistant, you can always get some key access. And they can be putting stuff in there while you're talking. I'm running the summit. So I don't have time to go into the chat. Right. Okay, I'm running the summit. I'm trying to go in the chat. And so I texted a couple of my colleagues that know my work, like I would text you, right? People that know my work that I know, have no issue saying, Hey, I think she's kind of good, you know? And I'm like, Hey, I'm speaking from this time to this time, can you pop on into the chat, and just feed back to what I'm saying, These people have heard me speak numerous times, they know who I am. They're my clients. They're like, I'm like, I don't have time to get the checks. I'm running the summit. Or you can say you can say that anytime. Even if you're not running the summit, you have a virtual assistant, they can come in, and they can do that. They can do some chat stuff, they can drop your links for you. But get your friends to kind of like pump you up while you're speaking. Because it allows the first person in the room to ask a question, right? Or have them ask the question. Hey, Dad, how do you this? And so you can go in after you speak, right? And answer those questions. You can answer them to everybody, you can answer private, or you can send private messages in the chat. Right? Yeah. Yeah.
Catharine O'Leary:Excellent. Well, um, this has been fantastic. Thank you so much, Deb, for for coming on and sharing more about show up, stand up and speak up. Is there is there anything that you want to kind of leave us with? Is there any, any kind of follow up? How would people connect with
Deb Drummond:Yeah, well, two things. One thing that I want to that I want to leave your audience with to think about? We still have summit spots left. So to get up on stage, here's what I would say to everybody. If you're thinking about doing summits, or you're thinking about how going into a book like ours, when reach out to brave up. Look, there's you know, no really brave up because here's the deal. So many people are concerned about being seen or are not ready yet. So look at we have a celebrity on every single Summit. You want to go. I was on a summit with Julie Brown. I was on a summit with Kimberly Butler. I was on a summit with Mindy shear I was on a summit with or I was in a project with Kimberly Butler de lipping. Well, Mindy shear, you know, Dr. Paula Gordon got it out of out of that, like you want to be able to say that for ever, forever. So that is in that content alone will give you a lot of content. But here's what I get, sometimes. I'm not there, you know, I'm not, I don't, I don't think I'm that far in my business, or I haven't done that much for women yet, or, you know, you're intimidated, you feel like you need to equal the other people in the summit. You know, there's a famous saying, in real estate, it's better to be, you know, the least expensive house on the block. Okay, you don't want to be the most expensive house on the block, you want to be the least expensive house on the block. And what that means is you want to align, you know, your house is going to have more value, because the houses around you are more valuable. And so if you're at that place where you're like, I've never done a summit, I'm super nervous. I mean, you want to be you know, so what I do is I have conversations and you can be interviewed. So don't forget that if you're nervous, and you don't think you can stand up there for 510 1520 Half an hour. And you know, go and speak speak your speech, then ask the person to interview you. You know, those three questions, you know, those answers to those questions like yesterday's business, you know, you've timed yourself before you come on, if 20 minutes time yourself, even me, even me, you know, time yourself, how long is it that you're speaking for practice, practice, practice, and then have someone do it for you. The only way through it is through it. If you're gonna, you know, this is really you want to get on other people's audiences, you better practice, there is no difference of being a virtual on a virtual summit than you being on a podcast. Are you talking to your girlfriend by zoom or FaceTime, there is no difference. So you are and you have something to say no matter where you are in your life. There's someone that needs to hear those five words. 50 words, whatever it is, you need to get your business out your project out, you're gonna have to brave up, put your you know, and know that you are as valuable as the celebrity speaker. Right? You brushed your teeth this morning, too. And you need to play off that be nervous. Do it anyway, want to throw up? Do it anyway. You know, your knees are knocking Do It Anyway, go off the camera after and run to the bathroom and put water on your face. Do it anyway.
Catharine O'Leary:Yeah. Yeah. Because you're right, the only way through it is to go through it. And the thing is, is that once you're through it, and you do it a couple more times, it becomes a lot of fun. You can you can like I mean, this, like this is like I'm just catching up with Deb. You know, like, this is like, this is like Deb's busy. I never get to talk to her. This is awesome. You know, like she got up at 7am. Come on and talk to me like it's fantastic. I love it.
